The Pacific Region is pleased to announce that the next 5-day Education Seminar “Leadership Skills” course will be held from January 13 to 18, 2019 in conjunction with the CLC Winter School in Harrison Hot Springs, B.C. We are limited to twenty (20) participants.
The Leadership Skills course is about communications, both on the shop floor and in the community – but it doesn’t stop there. The wide range of topics covered include: history, media literacy, quality of work life (QWL) programs, shop floor tactics, campaign building, dealing with conflict and problem-solving.
This 5-day course gives shop stewards and other union leaders an opportunity to improve their communication and shop floor organizing skills. Participants will increase their confidence to represent members and to communicate union policies and programs. This course is recommended for local officers and shop floor leaders who have some experience already and want to develop stronger communication and advocacy skills. Participants who complete this course are expected to work with Local and Regional leadership to implement union endorsed campaigns and other initiatives.
