Tuesday November 6 2018

On November 5, 2018 in the early evening, Sisters Jan Simpson, Nancy Beauchamp, Brothers Mike Palecek and Sylvain Lapointe met with Minister of Labour, Ms Patty Hajdu and Minister of Public Services and Procurement and Accessibility, Ms Carla Qualtrough. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the state of negotiations. At this meeting, we reiterated our will to achieve negotiated settlements.

Our Message to Canada Post Hasn’t Changed

Our message to Canada Post is clear; we want to negotiate fair collective agreements that address our concerns around health and safety, the increase in temporary and precarious jobs, overburdening, job security, inadequate staffing, equality and fair wages for all. Canada Post must come to the table with solutions to our concerns.

The Strike Continues

Our strike activities will continue until we resolve the issues that are critical to each and every postal worker. We are on strike because we are no longer willing to sacrifice our health and our personal lives so that Canada Post can continue to make profits off our backs. The rotating strikes are working and putting more pressure on Canada Post with each passing day.

Support the strike activities, remain determined and strong. Our strength in numbers and our solidarity is the way to achieve our demands and to improve our health and safety and our working conditions.
