CUPW is launching a new publication made up entirely of stories and events from the membership!

Are you planning a Local action? Is anyone in your Local speaking at an event? Is there work happening with allies? Are members helping in the community? Would you like to share an interesting event planned by your Local with the rest of the country? This is the publication for all that information!

There are 201 locals across the country, representing just over 56,000 workers from Carbonear, NL, to Windsor, ON, all the way to Victoria, BC, and up to Yellowknife, NT. We know you have stories to share. We’re here to help share your information with the country!

The publication will be virtual, residing on a dedicated section of our CUPW National website.

Since this publication is for the members, by the members, it should also be named by the members. With that said, we’re holding a contest to name the publication! This is a two-part contest. The first part invites all members to send their name ideas to action@cupw-sttp.org. You have until Tuesday September 8 to send in your submissions.

From these suggestions, we will choose a top five, and then, you, the workers, will vote on your favourite! The vote will be done via a Facebook poll and through email.

Members are active, imaginative and passionate, and we are excited to finally have a dedicated space to share all of the great actions and ideas coming out of each and every Local.

In solidarity,

Jean-Philippe Grenier
