Sisters, Brothers and Comrades,
We are excited to present you with the next phase of Building Power to Win.
Our power as a union is our members, and that is the starting point of this campaign. Our objective is to provide a series of training sessions to spur the next generation of organizers, activists and strong union advocates.
This campaign has been designed to encourage the maximum participation of locals. The first training session will be offered in partnership with Labor Notes. The tools provided by the training will allow locals to adapt their strategies and learn new tactics of organizing.
The number of participants is limited to 60 for this first session, and the deadline for registration is February 23, 2022.
This general training entitled “Secret to Successful Organizing” is divided into three modules, each one lasting two hours.
These sessions encompass the following issues: beating apathy, assembling a dream team and turning an issue into a campaign.
Two sessions have been planned initially:
- Monday March 7 @ 7:30 p.m. ET
- Wednesday March 9 @ 7:30 p.m. ET
- Monday March 14 @ 7:30 p.m. ET
or
- Tuesday March 8 @ 5:30 p.m. ET
- Thursday March 10 @ 5:30 p.m. ET
- Tuesday March 15 @ 5:30 p.m. ET
This training will be offered in the evening at two different times to take time zones into account and to facilitate participation.
The cost of the training will be covered by the national office. If union book off is required, it will have to be paid for by the local.
The training sessions will be bilingual, and simultaneous interpretation will be available.
