The CUPW is now accepting applications for the position of Environmental Research Liaison and Representative to the All-Union Environment Committee. The selected candidate will work closely with the 1st and 2nd National Vice-Presidents on projects related to both the CPC and the CUPW’s environmental initiatives.
Location
- The selected candidate will be required to work from the CUPW National office or a CUPW Regional Office, depending on the needs of the committee.
Position Details
- This is a full-time position and will be for a minimum of a 6-month term starting on July 11th, 2022.
- After the 6 months, the needs of the committee will be reviewed, and the position may be extended for a full year.
- Salary and benefits are in line with Union Representative rates of pay, as outlined in section 7.29 of the CUPW National Constitution.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years working in the broader labour movement, on environmental issues and priorities.
- A minimum of 2 years in environmental research and/or an educational background in environmental studies.
- Relevant experience with projects related to environmental justice.
- Experience in project management.
- Proficiency in writing and research.
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and communicate efficiently with all levels of the union and management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to work well individually and on a team.
Assets
- Ability to speak and write in both official languages.
- Experience with committee work in a union, non-profit or community setting.
- Experience navigating the complex labour/management relationships.
