I want to send a message to my entire CUPW family, all of our active members and our retirees. First of all, I want you to know that during this time of crisis, our CUPW leadership is absolutely focused on protecting our membership in every way we can. We are facing the most significant health crisis in memory and I know that our families and members — and all working people— are worried, unsure of what tomorrow will bring and facing hardships and extremely difficult challenges and decisions.
I am not going to pretend that there is an easy roadmap here. I want you to know that we are working tirelessly to protect our members in every sector of the workplace and society. To make sure we do everything we can to safeguard our members and their families.
Our message to employers is clear: Put our members first in this crisis. These are the very people who make your profits and salary possible, who provide the services to your customers.
We must all work together in this very difficult time. I will continue to provide updates, as we know more. I want to thank you for your patience and your strength as we face this together.
