The Union was notified on May 18th that the RSMC Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) payment for the last quarter of 2021 (October – December 2021) will be paid on June 9th (Pay Period 12).

UPDATED AMOUNT

Due to the way the pay periods line up compared to the quarter to which the COLA applies, the amount will be a little more than what we calculated and announced in bulletin #340 (dated February 9th).

Canada Post Corporation indicated that they can only calculate the COLA payment based on complete pay periods. For this reason, the payment will be calculated based on all the affected pay periods.

Therefore, the RSMC COLA will be paid on all activity components paid between the closest pay periods that include the impacted COLA start and end dates. This means that an additional 14 working days (activity components paid during those 14 days) will be included in the COLA payment.

FURTHER UPDATES

We have not yet been informed of a specific date for the Urban COLA payment. We will provide further updates as information becomes available.
